Fforest Fields is a delightful rural campsite surrounded by wooded mountain bowl far from any road. It is a dedicated touring and camping site and has no clubhouse, no statics and not even a swimming pool. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the peace of the countryside. Grass and hardstanding pitches are spacious and landscaped with trees and banks which give privacy yet still afford glorious views of mid-Wales scenery.

Several excellent walks for the energetic or not so energetic start direct from the campsite meandering up through woods to the thousands of acres of moorland above. Dogs are welcome; they love it here, with plenty of walks off site where they can be exercised. We also have a fenced scamper area where they can do their business if you wish.

The site is lovingly maintained with a spotless toilet shower block and a washing up and launderette room. The showers are free and so is hot water for washing up. There are 48 electric hook-ups (16 amps). Ten hard-standings.

For the past six years we have been the proud winners of a David Bellamy Gold Award for creating this environmental jewel. The site attracts dozens of species of birds from tree-creepers to red kites. It’s not unusual to be joined by a chaffinch for tea. Song thrushes practice their repertoire by day and owl hoots break the silence of night. Dragonflies and damselflies dance about the ponds that are fed by the little stream that runs through the site.
About a mile away the little village of Hundred House sports a most welcoming pub with restaurant. There is a mile long path running through our farm that links the campsite to the village.

The campsite is four miles from the attractive historic market town of Builth Wells, which bridges the river Wye and is home to the Royal Welsh Showground where many events take place. Builth (rhymes with filth!) has plenty of parking and is a most friendly place to shop
